Netherlands New Guinea

Netherlands New Guinea (Roggenkämper/Russ/Wiegand #4) sent to The Netherlands on September 21, 1962. Uprated with 20 c stamp to meet the 30 c aerogramme rate to European destinations.

This aerogramme was issued in 1962 and only sold for a short time. In 1962, tensions between the Netherlands and Indonesia regarding the territory peaked out. The territory was placed under the United Nations Temporary Executive Authority in October 1962 and was later integrated into Indonesia.
