Australia: 1981 33c Aerogramme - Missing Colors

USA: 10c "Missing Propeller" Variety

This is Wiegand #4 (three-line admonition on back panel).

Below is a close-up of the indicum clearly showing the missing propeller, which was listed in the old Kessler catalogues. However, it is not in the Wiegand catalogue.

There are other differences as well. Steve Levine has published a good start for further investigations on his website.

UK: Missing Phosphor Bars on Scotland Regional Aerogramme


This is UK Greiner #73, a Scotland regional aerogramme. Not listed by Greiner, it also exists without the two phosphor bars as can be seen below.

This aerogramme (Wiegand no. 7) was sent to India in March 1964. It shows a double print of the "blue" printing plate.

Double Printing of the Indicium




The aerogramme (Wiegand no. 7) was sent from RANGOON (cds 7 FEB 67) to Tucson, U.S. Even if the aerogramme went through the postal network it is philatelic to some extent. The addressee, Walter R. Guthrie, was a well known aerogramme collector and loads of aerogrammes without any message on the writing panel exist adressed to him.

This aerogramme shows a double printing of the red indicium, see detail below.
