Fiji: 1944 Fiji Air Mail Letter Card
Overlay of a 30 % diagonal line screen and inscriptions in blue on white paper. Right folding flap is 65 mm, left folding flap is 6.15 mm wide.
Note at the bottom of the front panel reads „When folded .. with the blue border within …“
First day cover sent to Australia from Vatukoula (16 NO 44). In November 1944 the British Empire Airmail Scheme introduced the air letter service to be available for participating countries. The 7 d rate for air letters was introduced on November 16.
Very rare.
Folding flaps on both left and right side are 64 mm wide.
