Iraq: Unissued 35 Fils King Faisal II Aerogramme - Postally Used

This is Iraq Wiegand #3, the 35 fils King Faisal II aerogramme from 1963, which was never issued. Later this aerogramme was issued with a handstamp obliterating the indicium (Wiegand #5) and a with stamp affixed covering the indicium (Wiegand #6a).

However, this item was postally used BAGHDAD (4 MAY 1963). The first I have ever seen.

A more careful analysis let me think that the aerogramme may well have been doctored. The BAGHDAD machine cancel's wavy lines normally come in three blocks (long / short / long). On the copy above there are only two blocks (long / short).

However, as the stamps used for covering the indicium were 25 mm wide, at least a part of the third block of wavy lines should have been visible on the right hand side edge of the aerogramme. Also, UV light does not reveal that any stamp was removed.

What do you think?

Australia: Short Paid Aerogramme

Australia aerogramme (Stein #A-40) sent from HOBART (4 NOV 1974) to Finland. The aerogramme contained an enclosure and was therefore treated as a short paid air mail letter (16 c deficiency).

Red oval instructional handstamp “AUSTRALIAN POST OFFICE / POSTAGE DEFICIENCY / ADJUSTED / HOBART MAIL EXCHANGE”.

A new  "honor'' system was  introduced  on  a  trial  basis  at  the Mail  Exchange  Branch  on  February 1, 1972,  for  collecting  deficient postage  on  unpaid  or  underpaid  mail  for  overseas  destinations. Underpaid  air  mail  letters  were  held  at  the  office  of  posting  for  a few days  while  the  sender  was  informed by an underpaid collection card and requested  to  make  good  the shortfall.

UK: Package Sleeve for Scottish Pictorial Aerogramme, Unusual Date

This is a sleeve for a package of "50 Scottish Pictorial Aerogrammes 'Edinburgh Festival' 1987, used by McCorquodale Envelopes Limited.

Interestingly, in 1987 there was no issue of an Edingburgh festival aerogramme in 1987. This aerogramme (26 p face value, Greiner #107) was issued in 1984. The 26 p aerogramme rate was still valid in 1987, though.

So, does this point to a second issue or printing of the 1984 aerogramme in 1987 or to a printing error in the sleeve?

Ghana: Registered Aerogramme to Germany

Ghana #10 sent registered to Germany. Three additional stamps to pay for registration, and most likely for an enclosure, which made the aerogramme an ordinary air mail letter.

German registration label " Einschreiben / aus dem Ausland" (Registered letter from abroad).
